3.2 Solving linear SystemsAlgebraically

3x+4y=-4

x+2y=2

Solve equations 2 for x:

x+2y=2

Subtract 2y to the other side of the equation.

Substitute the expression for x into equation 1 and solve for y.

3x+4y=-4

3(-2y+2) +4y=-4

y=5

Substitute the value of y into revised equation 2 and solve for x

x=-2y+2

x=-2(5) +2

X=-8

The solution is (-8,5)

Problem II (without words)

2x+2y=0

6x+y=-10

2y=-2x

y=x

6x+(-x)=-10

6x-x=-10

5x=-10

x=-10/5= -2

y=x

y=-(-2)

y=2

Spring break

Well i didnt do alot this spring break. All i did was stay at home and eat junk food and stuff. I also went to play soccer alot. That was about the only fun thing i did in the afternoons. I also woke up late so that was pretty cool. I had lots of spare time so i read some books and listened to music, all that type of stuff. I played catch with my brother in the morinings when i didnt have any thong to do. I also saw lots of tv. AND i got a new hair cut...finally. SO yea my break was pretty boring other than playing soccer all i did was stay home. So i had a pretty boring break.

I think we should bring video games like a ps2 or something ELSE. If not we could eat some pizza all day long and just chill in our class room. It would be cool to skip more than 2 periods at least for one day.

CHRISTMAS BREAK

Christmas break was a great time. I enjoyed having spending time with my family. For Christmas eve we stayed in our house with some people. We ate tamales and drank a type of Mexican drink. After that we went to my aunts house where most of my relatives were. They also were serving tamales and lots of other foods. It was my dads birthday on Christmas eve. So i thinks he is lucky because he always gets double the presents, for his birthday and Christmas. So when we got back to our house it was time to open our presents. I only got a few presents but they were pretty cool. So for New years we went to my aunts house again. It was more fun this time because a lot of my cousins were there. We talked about lots of things and fooled around a little. After New years I thought nothing else was going to happen. After New years it was back to boring days. My parents went to work and I took care of my little brother. He always wanted me to make breakfast because i make some very good breakfast. I also had to clean the house by myself because my brother wouldn't help me. So that was boring. But on January 5 my dog had 5 puppies. That was pretty cool. So now i am kind of happy were back in school.

Are We Failing Our Genuises?

I think smart people should be allowed to skip grades because f they dont they will be bored. If they cant skip grades its just like holding them back. If they stay in the same grade they will get bored and will want to drop out of school. If they drop out of school they will not get to be the great person they could have become. They should at least let them skip a couple of grades. That way they are not bored at school.
